Our Cairns branch have a very exciting opportunity for a 2IC to join our team! About the role The 2IC will contribute to and support the successful daily running of the factory by performing fabrication and manufacturing processes, as well as providing backup support to the Factory Manager. The 2IC will possess strong fabrication and manufacturing skills which will be used to not only meet production targets, but to providing guidance and support to other team members as required. The 2IC will work alongside the Factory Manager to ensure the factory is running efficiently, and that employee have the skills and training needed for their roles. This role will also focus on health and safety in the factory. Key responsibilities - Provide support and backup to the Factory Manager;
- Mediate conflicts and resolve interpersonal issues among staff members in a timely and constructive manner, with the help of the Factory Manager;
- Monitor and evaluate individual and team performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and discuss with Factory Manager/ Manager for Implementation;
- Organise and conduct regular safety meetings to reinforce adherence to safety protocols and procedures;
- Collaborate with the Safety Officer / Manager to identify potential hazards, and implement preventative measures to mitigate risks;
- Promote a safety-first mindset amongst staff, through education, training and awareness campaigns;
- Perform a wide range of fabrication and manufacturing processes, and provide training and guidance on other staff in these processes;
- Unloading raw materials and general warehousing duties;
- Manual handling and lifting of up to 15kg;
- Communicate with customers as required;
- Build and maintain strong relationships with the production team;
- Uphold, maintain and demonstrate a commitment to safety and engaging in safe work practices; and
- Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably required by the company.

About You - Strong fabrication and manufacturing skills, with a good knowledge of Bradnam’s products;
